I'm sitting here thinking that Carle should be sent to AAA after the game but then couldn't think of anyone who should take his place. We have some young starters who will probably end up in the pen but who aren't at the point where they should be sent there yet.

The fact that AA didn't even try to grab a solid middle reliever or two this offseason is unforgivable. Dude was asleep at the wheel.

He came up the minors as a patient guy, and his wasted rookie year was very similar.

The crazy thing is that he doesn't have a terrible eye. It's almost more that he thinks he can hit anything a pitcher throws and ends up swinging at terrible pitches. Bad decision making more than an inability to recognize pitches.
