Wonder who will be next? If Folty has a good year he could be next. I’m hoping to see Albies get an extension soon.

There is no reason to extend Folty. Hopefully AA is smart enough to realize Folty is already controlled for the entirety of his 20s, and avoids such an extension.

I’m willing to bet it’s Albies. With how close they are, Albies is probably knocking on AA’s office door saying, “ok my turn. Do me now.”

    2021 (23): $5M (arb 1)

    2026 (28): $23M (FA 2)
    2027 (29): $17M option, $10M buyout (FA 3)
    2028 (30): $17M option, $10M buyout (FA 4)

I can't believe Acuna gave up 2 option years at the end of this deal, but it's great news for the Braves.

Acuna may now be the most valuable asset in all of MLB.
Do you think maybe there's some signing bonus in there and maybe a little less in the 27-28 years?

Those options are insanely low. It's like he's giving us a free year.

I forgot Folty was already late 20’s. Yeah I’d hold off on that one.

    Nothing reported yet.

I’m not sure folks appreciate just how much extra value those 2 option years are, and how bad it was for Acuna’s agent to give them up.

    Acuna must really love Atlanta.

He's clearly taking less so we can make sure Freeman retires a Brave

And he wants his buddy Albies with him for the next decade.

But in all seriousness this just extended the Braves current window. Acuna is a superstar you can build around and they have done it.

Maybe Acuna left money on the table so we could sign his buddy.

I'd love to give Oz an extension if he stops striking out so much and popping up.

Willie Mays Hayes had to do push ups every time he hit the ball in the air. Lou Brown was a genius .

Given how team-friendly the Acuna deal is, I wouldn't be surprised to see another 2-3 years tacked onto Freeman's deal at (or close to) his current salary. Does that push him a little further than some folks prefer to go? Sure, but it would line up perfectly with Goldschmidt's extension from St. Louis - taking Freddie through to roughly the same age.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
