Victor Vodnik, our 14th rounder last year that we went over slot for, has gotten off to a great start in Rome. Two perfect innings with 5 Ks today, touching 98 on the last K.

    On the year:6 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 0 R, 9 K.

He'll be in ATL quicker if he remains a reliever.

I’m wondering if they see him as a reliever or are just using this as a way to limit his innings some — similar to the way they did with Tarnok last year.

Pache is really off to a great start. Per Mississippi’s communications director:

Cristian Pache has a 5-game hitting streak and was 3-for-7 today with another double and stolen base. He has 6 extra-base hits and four steals in 8 games.

Let’s hope that game power continues to grow. Could be part of a great OF in the future

I'm pretty disgusted with ender at the moment, but I think he gets it going. Ender is a good player

Only likely option at the moment is camargo in lf and acuna in cf. I'm not endorsing this move bc I love ender's defense, but we would be better offensively

if camargo shows improvement vs righties i wouldn’t mind it that much. maybe.

Acuna has tended to grade out slightly above average in center. Camargo is grading out in very limited innings as slightly above average in left. If Camargo proves to be a positive hitter overall this is very reasonable way to play it.

This scenario is why I did not totally sweat the Braves not acquiring a RH OF bat. In my opinion, the Braves need to explore whether Camargo is just a young guy that got better or whether he has been riding a two year hot streak. So I'm happy he's getting the at bats. So far he's gotten 3 starts from Inciarte and 1 each from Donaldson, Swanson, and Markakis.

I appreciate Inciarte's defense, but it's not worth it to start him if he is >25% below average at the plate.
