Venters has been killing it at AAA. This loss is on AA for not making the venters for minter switch

Snitker will keep going with Minter until AA finally grows some damn balls and signs Kimbrel.

Snakes are doing their best to give tis game to the Braves. But, the Braves don't want it. Snakes have gone 0-13 w/RISP and left 2 runners on base in each if the last 6 innings.

The Braves don't want this game-- Minter walks the 1st hitter, then a single puts runners on corners, 0 outs.

Bloop hit drops between Ozzie, Markakis and Freddie scores the winning run.

Minter now with 4 losses. That ties Teheran for team lead in losses.

I bet if we throw enough games, we can miss the playoffs. Let's see.

Phillies are tied for the biggest division lead. They are the only NL east team with a positive RD at +31.

And just think. After the Braves are done with this series, the Cardinals and Brewers are next. Oh boy.

Soroka is a clone of Derek Lowe in his prime.
A really solid number 2 who becomes a number one when he gets some luck with ground balls being hit at the D.
Fried seems to be a solid 2-3.
That’s two of the young arms that we seem to have hit on.
I’m not as hopeful for our other guys on the farm to be anything more then back end options even Wright who seems to have solid stuff but hasn’t yet put it together.
Who would of ever thought we would end up with more long term pieces from the everyday players then our pitching?
I hope Touki,Anderson and Wright all have great careers and make me look like an idiot that gave up on them to soon but to this point how can you not kinda worry that’s how it’s going to end up?
Having said all that imo Folty is the most important player to this years team by far.
If he doesn’t get it together and become something approaching what he was last year I just don’t see how we are going to be able to make the playoffs unless we spend some money on Keuchel which isn’t going to happen.Gausman and Julio are what they are at this point and we think we know what we have with the two young guns but we really need Folty to be a top of the rotation guy.
We have a very good offense but with Nick pretty much destined to come back to earth after a hot start and some other regression going on with our catchers, I don’t see how it can save us with our starters and bullpen being so inconsistent.

Now hopefully we go on a 10 game winning streak since I posted this...

I had this manifesto ready on why Minter should not be in a game that is hanging in the balance and I'd rather see Webb for multiple innings if we could get it to the 11th inning and then I look and we still had Tomlin (threw a lot of pitches Tuesday), Wright (Why do they call these kids up to sit in the pen?) along with Webb and Blevins who at this point in his career is better served for as short of stints as possible. Wright or Webb should have been in the game over Minter. I haven't been this upset over a loss in awhile. Edit: Webb threw 31 pitches last night, I despise the Dodgers and turned the television off when Minter was brought in against the Dodgers so I didn't know what happened after that point. Wright should have been in the game over Minter.

I have no idea how many games we’ve given away, but there are a lot. This was, for a lack of better words, an actual bad loss. This is starting to get really worrisome

This loss makes the 2nd time the Braves have lost 4 games in a row this season. Last year lost 4 games in a row 4 time(3 in 2nd half).

Have had 2 3 game losses this year. Both were sweeps(Phiiiies and Dodgers). A sweep by Ariz earlier was part of a 4 game loosing streak.

Next year is the year to me. Even “if” we make the playoffs I don’t see us going far. This is the year I was worried about us having after kinda over achieving last year.

Good news is we have Soroka and Fried now once Folty gets out of preseason mode...with more guys coming. We will be VERY good next year....VERY good.

Also played the easiest schedule so far. We'll see where everyone is at come all-star break.

It was mentioned that Wright was tipping pitches regripping the ball in his glove. I think he’s gonna end up solid for us in the second half this year. The thing that did him in early on was the walks which was not his issue coming up
