Addison Reed and Luke Gregerson were both recently DFA'd, I don't even want to see their xwOBA numbers but I'd take a chance on at least Reed.

Bringing sense into a conversation of players and abilities and this makes absolute sense, but I will go further, his FB is like 94-97 and if he can add a complete wipe-out slider (Kershaw or R Johnson) or a nice cutter, he is TOR stuff and possible ace material but he has to master the control of them.

His curve is already elite material. He doesn't throw change-ups much but they are sporadic, which will give hitters to think about.

What do you think about that?
Fried already added a plus slider. That new pitch and his improved control is why he’s pitching so well right now.

Adding a pitch isn’t too surprising, but the improvement in his control at such an advanced age is pretty rare to see. He may be one of those exceptions folks point to when a pitcher in his mid 20s still cant throw strikes

And we might have Kranitz to thank. You could see a clear change in his tempo throughout his deliver from last year. Would be a great find if that is the 'fix'.

Soroko and him does remind me of Smoltz and Glavine, except that Fried throws really hard. Both of them throw mid 90's easily, I think Soroka 99 if he needs to and Fried 97 to 98 if needed to.

Back then they had their lumps as well, a lot of them.

If Folty can be Folty and then the Gas-man do what they do, we have four great pictchers for the future. And they are mid 90's plus up to 100 mph pitchers.
