For the former #1 prospect in the galaxy, he sure does look like a tumbleweed in centerfield sometimes.

Going to say this. Win or lose this game is a success because Folty is showing he is still Folty. Maybe he collapses in the 5th but we still saw what he can do. This starting rotation is legit right now.

You put Folty (if he’s right), Soroka, Fried, Gausman, Julio...that’s not bad at all.

He isn’t a center fielder to me (makes too many mistakes). Pache....he is.

We've discussed his defensive instincts previously in these threads and his are lacking to say the least. I don't know how much he can improve but I'd be shocked if he ever becomes an above average CF let alone "elite."

Jesus, Acuna. Terrible at-bats the last two or three games.

Is Acuna just going to be a streaky hitter? I guess it doesn’t matter how he gets there as long his end results are the same.

I wouldn't be able to dig it up but I remember reading something that said that Acuna's wOBA vs high velocity (95+) last year was meh. If he connected on it, it was good, but he often didn't.

Needless to say, he swung right through a 96 MPH fastball that was right down Broad Street on the first pitch that at bat.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Are we ready to get him out of lead off then. Clearly he is going to be streaky at any position in the batting order. Might as well make it a better RBI spot.

Smantics. But I list them as Soroka, Folty, Fried, Gaus and then JT.

He has looked bad, but Mikolas appears to be pitching his butt off...well...or we are making him look that way. A lot of bad swings to go around.
