So you don't like the fact that our military keeps people free around the world. I am proud of having served and spent time in Vet Nam. I am sorry for all of the losses that were suffered there and around the world.

I think his point was that we are obsessed with honoring everyone in a uniform. The paper pusher in the army is not a hero. The clown writing speeding tickets is not a hero.

Combat soldiers are heroes. Heart surgeons are heroes. Police who actually protect people are heroes. Teachers who help at risk children turn their lives around are heroes.

Those people deserve adulation, but society is allowing that adulation can to be watered down by honoring folks that don’t deserve it.
