Agreed. I’d try to make a deal now but most teams will hold onto their players and hope somebody overpays the closer they get to the deadline.

Thought of acquiring a really good asset at a position of major need at expense of two players that seem nothing more than organizational filler does bring some pleasure.

Giants probably aspire higher. That's definitely an offer to put in your pocket until a few minutes before the deadline.
