Not that it's a ringing endorsement for this strategy, but I'd say the focus on pitching is definitely paying dividends among this year's team.
Not to mention there is more pitching coming. And while its a longshot I do believe we haven't seen the last from Gohara.

it allowed the Braves to shop in the bargain bin. they got Gausman for nothing and Keuchel on the cheap for a year.
just goes to show how much pitching is needed. how would you have acquired good pitching as a mid-market team? obviously we now have hindsight so we know who’s worked out and who hasn’t. easily could’ve made the wrong moves and lost either prospects or money for it.
if only wren had been able to draft more than 1 decent pitcher and didn’t leave the farm barren.

increasingly however it looks like Soroka will be the pick of the liter and Fried the second best. I think what's left on the farm are some back end of the rotation guys. But we did get our homegrown ace.

I think it's too soon to say what muller, Anderson, wentz, Wright, and Wilson will or won't be

there is a range of possible outcomes...some more likely than others...I think we'll get a 4 and a 5 out of that group...

Mueller has raised his stock to the point where he may be the best option remaining on the farm based on spin rate data that has come out on Anderson.

He might be the pick of the foudre, even.

I’m still holding out hope that Wright is a 2 or 3.

To make room for DK, the Braves moved O'Day to the 60 IL. IMO, that move seals his fate as never having thrown a pitch for the Braves. What a waste of $$$

Keuchel will wear No. 60. He was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. To make room on 40-man roster, Darren O’Day was moved to 60-day DL.

Definitely doesn’t seal his fate. That’s a retroactive move.

ODay has already spent 60 days on the DL, so he can come off anytime.

    Didn't know you could "retroactive" a 10 DL into a 60 DL

Not a waste of money as it decreased the player cost to get Gausman.

    Yeah, it’s a thing. It’s just a procedural move.
