On back to back grounders, Fried fielded and threw wildly to 1st with Freddie making great plays diving to bag to get the outs and save errors.

Fried is going to have to figure out the slider. His curve is just to loopy sometimes.

Max Fried is back to Mike Montgomery like now that teams figured out to spit on his sliders entirely. A number four or five starter at the MOST. It doesn't mean **** if you have other pitches if they're not on the same tunnel.

Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Also, Phillies lead 2-1. I don’t think Philadelphia is a particularly good team, but we haven’t done much to show we’re any better, so.
But really it is fastball command that had gotten Fried in this mess. Missing with it ahead in the count to Prado and Rojas.

I’m a big Fried fan, so I don’t agree, but he’s obviously all over the place. He’s not walking the world like Newk, at least. Lol
I'm somehow less than thrilled at that prospect.
