Not sure I understand half the comments being tossed around.

Fried gave up an infield single and a bomb to one of the premier power hitters in the game.

He was never a TOR of his early season elite control didn’t hold up. His slider is a perfectly good pitch, but it isn’t new and catching guys off guard anymore. His curve is still elite, and plenty of pitchers with elite curves get by just fine throwing it quite often.

Fried’s issue was always been and always will be the lack of rise on his FA. He added a good slider and was controlling the zone very well early. The control has regressed as expected, and hitters have adjusted to the the slider as expected.

I’m not really sure why there is any surprise overbwhat Fried is doing right now. It’s been expected the entire time.

Why do I have a feeling that Kingery is not going to get out this series?

homer on a straight fastball perfectly down the middle at 92.8 mph, that is batting practice pitching.

I have no faith in Fried. He has to establish another pitch.

Slump doesn’t bother me as much as it does slumping against the Phillies. Hate is an understatement.

Fried is Mike Montgomery, a number four or five starter without consistent tunneling. He doesn't need a 3rd pitch to throw 30%+ of the time.

I'd honestly IL him if Newcomb's start goes well and send him to Driveline for the next month or two.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

AA was right when he said our rotation is in worse shape than our pen on High Heat discussing the DK signing. He admitted needs for both but said he was more concerned with the rotation and that made DK more important to sign than Kimbrel. Though he also said he was interested in signing both.
