Im not confident the Mets would even consider trading Thor within the division. There is an article on MLB Trade Rumors that mentions they won't even consider trading with the Yankees. Wow

"the asking price on Syndergaard is something in the range of a top-30 prospect “and a couple of other solid pieces"

    Seems very affordable...

Could that be Riley plus a couple 40s/45s?

    Anderson/Wright plus a couple 40s/45s, maybe another 50?

Does it have to be Waters? Would Waters plus filler for Thor be acceptable if you consider his MiLB stats are propped up by a huge BABIP?

Thor is the type of impact talent the Braves should be trying to acquire now, and I expect them to be in the thick of negotiations for him.

Van Wagenen might be dumb enough to do that.

Man... I'm so conflicted about a Thor trade. I'd obviously love to get a pitcher for 2.5 years that has Cy Young upside. At the same time should we be paying a premium for those extra two years of control on a pitcher that has never pitched 200 innings, has only made more than 30 starts once, and has a pretty long history of injuries? Hell, I'm uncomfortable paying that price for almost any pitcher. Should we pay it for a guy who's history makes him far riskier than the typical guy of his caliber?

If the price were just Riley or Waters plus some non-elite guys I guess I would be down for it. The value would just be too good at that point.

We need to make a call on our prospects and young players in the majors. I wouldn't trade Pache or Waters. I would think giving them a choice of any two of Anderson, Fried, Riley, Wright, Wilson or Muller would be a very competitive offer. If they insist on a third piece we have plenty of prospects just below that level that we could add.

Im not sure if "The Braves Way" is still a thing, but not sure Thor fits into that. He's known to be a bit of a head case and has made headlines here in NYC by acting up.

Eh. I'm pretty sure Syndergaard sees how talented we are as a team. So the chance for him to be a part of another world series caliber team has to be enticing for him to not act like a twit.

Thor is good and impactful but he hasnt been that good this year, and comes with injury concerns.

But that report of a top 30 prospect, and some other solid pieces, seems like the Mets would be selling very low. I wanna hold onto Waters/Pache, and Anderson. Not sure if Braves can get it done without one of them, but i guess it depends what AA offers.

I think i'd offer something like Contreras, Wright, Riley, and Ynoa for him.

I’d absolutely trade the hell out of any of our non-Pache prospects for Thor.

Allard Baird, perhaps Van Wagenen’s top lieutenant, is watching the #Braves AAA team today. Atlanta last year was the team that tried hardest for Wheeler. Atl also has the farm talent to go for DIaz or Syndergaard if the #Mets were willing to do something that big in the division.

If the Mets don't know enough about the Braves AAA prospects by now, they would be foolish to even attempt making a trade haha.

Having said that, Wright is pitching today for AAA...

He's too much for Wheeler, but could be the centerpiece for Thor.

If Thor is going to be acquired it would be nice to have it happen before he makes his next start on the 29th.

Word is it would take a top 30 prospect for anyone wanting to get Thor...there would of course be a contenders premium plus a divisional premium for us getting him

    Braves get: Thor and Diaz
Mets get: Riley or Waters, Wright, Wilson

I don’t know that would be enough to entice the Mets
