How about Folty, Fried, Newcomb, Touki, Swanson, Inciarte, Flowers, Jackson? Any credit for those?

I assume no credit for anyone else that was drafted.

As much as I love Paul Snyder, the Braves brought in Gordon Blakeley prior to the hiring of Coppolella in an attempt to become more aggressive in Latin America. It didn't really work, because of all the high-profile guys they pursued under that regime, only Pache has panned out.

I actually doubt the GM is the principal decision maker in the draft room.

The market is so unpredictable. But there have been a lot of misses over the years.

There is just no way with all the responsibilities a GM has to ensure the major leagur team is good that they can have any involvement on the amateur side of the organization.

so your position is a GM has no input whatsoever in drafting players...? gotta say i disagree strongly with that.

Yeah, thats pretty much been my position for a while. The credit a GM should get is for the hiring pf those positions but usually thats handled by the VPs now.

    Again, you're wrong. As usual.

At the top of the draft the GM has final say in who gets selected based on data from several sources (scouts, analytics, interviews with the player, personal viewings). After the first 10ish rounds the draft is mostly handled by the scouting staff. This has been verified by guys like Kiley and Longenhagen numerous times.

What you think or doubt is irrelevant.

Dude, stop. You're wrong. As always.

The GM is directly involved with draft decisions at the top part of the draft.

You know very little about most things that have to do with MLB. Just accept it and stop arguing from positions of extreme ignorance.
