I think we'll do something before the deadline but I'm growing more pessimistic that it will be a meaningful addition. I just don't see things lining up well for that. The lack of sellers, sky high prices, the Mets' reluctance to deal within the division. It's not a great situation for us to make a major addition.

He was the first to report us as the leader for Keuchel, so I think he's someone to believe.
Castellanos is my preference being that he is a true lefty masher and his acquisition cost should be minimal. His defense has improved this year as well, to where we may actually get slightly better defense than what we've gotten from Neck (certainly wouldn't expect much worse). And while it's likely meaningless, it's nice to see that he has made himself Washington's daddy the few times he's played them

They just shipped off a RP to Philly.

I agree the sellers don't match up with the buyers and it "feels" like a sellers market. AA usually stays away from situations like that.

This is where I'm leaning. I also don't think there's a ton of guys available that make me excited.

A pretty inconsequential reliever. No one cares about dealing the Vargases of the world within a division. The Thors and the Wheelers? That's a different question.

They trade Camargo for a starting pitcher and make Ray-Patrick Didder the starting shortstop. Didder hits .400 and sets the single-season record for most HBPs in a season in less than two months. Didder wins both RoY and MVP for his Bob "Hurricane" Hazle impression. Fans start to chant "Dansby Who?" after mid-August.

The closer we get to the deadline, now 31 hours, the more locked out AA becomes. Prices will rise greatly. As I said earlier in this thread, AA will be shopping in the lower tiers/value aisles. Nothing of any significant value will be added.

    Please surprise me AA!!

Though we didn’t really give anything of value up, last deadline is kind of a bust for me. Our big move was Gausman/O’day Where one has been super inconsistent while the other has yet to throw a pitch in over a year with the team

Like you, I get the feeling if we do anything this year, it will be something similar to that

My favorite deadline moves are those for someone like Gausman or Brach. They address a clear weakness without a large price tag. I don't know if there is as good of a value relative to the Braves' needs this year, but I hope AA is trying for something similar.

Wentz, Davidson, Demeritte, and A-Jax to the Tigers for Shane Greene and Castellanos.

    Ynoa to Toronto for Biagini.

Riley back to Gwinnett - Duvall/Joyce and Castellanos flanking Acuna with Ender playing sporadically.

Walker and Sobotka back to Gwinnett - only veterans in the pen, Greene takes over as Closer, Newk and Jackson get the 8th, Biagini, Minter, and Swarzak the 7th.

Folty steps back into the rotation, and Gausman gets one more start before the back of the rotation becomes a rotation of Soroka/Fried/Wilson/Touki.

(Got a feeling we see Folty this time through regardless.)
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Not sure what Boyd, Green, and Castellanos would cost but I could see a one stop shop for AA.

Robbie Ray seems like what we wish Newk could become, a solid mid rotation pitcher who can dominate at times, or get blown up. But with only 1.5 years of control, it would seen like a solid win for the D-Backs and a clear overpay on NYY part.

Hard to become that out of the bullpen.

I'd be willing to try Newk back in the rotation if necessary.

The Mets are continuing to evaluate the Braves’ top prospects. Edwin Diaz appears to be a more likely target than Syndergaard. Wheeler is also in play at a lesser cost. Our
