Shewmake, Ball red-hit, Ball and Waters leading their league in hitting.

Allard pitched well last year in AAA, but got shelled in Atlanta. Was it JUST a velocity thing or has he been altering his approach in AAA this year? Walks and era are up overall, but the last few starts have looked better. Is that JUST velocity or is a new approach finally taking hold?

The velocity uptick has come over his past 5 or 6 starts so if you look at the numbers dating back to the beginning of that time his numbers have improved tremendously.

The thing I have noticed (and it might be a total fluke) is that his GO/AO ratio is well above his career norms this season. It may mean very little or it may mean the Braves have altered his approach on the mound. If that's the case, it may explain why his control numbers are a little worse this season.

Allard seems to be rounding into form just in time for the trade deadline. Now we just need him to hit a couple of homers to really crank up his value.
    Go get him!

That was very subtle. But I think it is still mocking whoever thought Jaime Garcia hitting a home run would help his trade value. I'm going to have to report you to our dear leader. Our anti-mocking rules need to be strictly enforced.

Is the uptick like 90-91 or 91-92. Any velocity increase completely changes things with Allard.

Last time I saw him he was sitting 91-93 and hit 94 several times. This is definitely an increase from the 87-90 we saw in ATL.

I think he may have hit 91 a few times I saw him in Mississippi, but it was mostly 88-89.

Has Rome lost since Shewmake joined the team? He sure has been on fire from the start.
