    Mets 4.58 ERA 4.32 FIP (-.26) BABIP .307 DRS -61 UZR/150 -5.8 BA - XBA .018
    Braves 4.30 ERA 4.53 FIP (+.23) BABIP .300 DRS 14 UZR/150 - .9 BA - XBA .006

Braves are probably significantly better even while not having a great defensive season at all.

    Nope...

Mets are 2nd worst on grounders, Braves are 5th worst. Thor generates a lot of grounders with that elite sinker.

I wouldn't expect to see a huge leap in overall results if Thor moves to Atlanta.

I'm not going to say "the Braves defense isn’t much better, especially on grounders" if that wasn't a fact.

It's possible it's just noise over a half a season though. We were good last year with the same infield minus JD.

It's a little odd to call 4 months of data small, but 6 months of data not small.

The culprit could be worse IF alignment. It could be that JD is worse than Camargo.

It isn't an exact metric for what we are talking about, but the Braves are 4th worst in MLB in BA-xBA at balls hit to 3B in 2019:

And were much better in 2018:

    https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statc..._pas=0#results

Those are only balls hit in the direction statcast determines qualify as the 3B position, but that's a subset of grounders that aren't being converted to outs by JD as well as they were by Camargo.

Radio crew pointed out we were getting less out of shifts than any other team in the league at one point.
