    How I see it . . .

Imagine if the Braves had acquired each of the following:

    1. Ace starter. Bauer was dealt to Cincinnati, Greinke to Houston, and others were reportedly shopped around. Greinke did not even cost Houston their top two prospects, and he has two more years of control left. He would be more valuable next year than freakin' Melancon. More expensive, yes, but you wouldn't need to do any shopping for another starter, and the Snakes are kicking in money to Houston, anyway.

    2. A corner OF. Franmil Reyes, Yasiel Puig, and Nicholas Castellanos were all moved without the Braves even being mentioned as serious contenders.

    3. A dynamite bullpen piece. Vazquez in Pittsburgh was the big one- Braves were not serious contenders.

We could have had Greinke for 2 50s and 2 40s. So let's say Waters, Wilson, Beck, and Weigel.
We could have had Castellanos for a 45 and filler. So let's say 1 of Wentz/Muller/Jenista plus a lottery ticket.
That would have left us with Wright, Anderson, Riley, and Contreras to address the bullpen with Vazquez, who is signed through 2023 (and he's 28 years old)

We could have done this all without losing Pache.

We ended up with 3 "okay" bullpen pieces, one of whom is a FA after this year, and one of whom will cost us $14 million next year when we should be targeting upgrades at corner OF, catcher, and in the rotation.

Disastrous day for those of us who want championships. These next two years as opportunities are now gone.

    A quarter century and counting.

Enjoy your next world title, Houston fans. Crane and Luhnow are badasses. You're the shining city on a hill.

    Look at this roster:

    C- Flowers
    1B- Freeman
    2B- Albies
    SS- Swanson
    3B- Donaldson
    LF- Acuna
    CF- Inciarte
    RF- Castellanos

    SP- Greinke, Keuchel, Soroka

    Vazquez closing.

Then Castellanos and Keuchel come off the books.

Pache slots into OF, Langeliers soon to catcher, and you resign Keuchel for a cheap deal.

I think that team can beat the Dodgers two years in a row with a chance at the Astros w/o Greinke.

Not sure Vazquez was close to attainable.

They were asking for Lux and more from the Dodgers. That pretty much starts and ends with Pache on our end. Nevermind, just saw your post. You would move Riley, Contreras, Wright, AND Anderson for Vazquez. That would be freaking awful.

Also, all your moves pretty much deplete our system for a hope to win it all.

I think you have to push all your chips to the middle of the table when you're a smaller market team like we are.

I would much rather have the Marlins 1993-2003 than the Braves 1992-2005. Two world titles. Man.

This is just a basic difference in philosophy and I suspect it's not going to be popular.

He would sacrifice Drew Waters and Ian Anderson to the god Cthulhu for a flag, given that they fly forever.

I know eventually we'll have to make a big move to get over the top, i'm not sure now is that time to do that.

Nobody here has the testosterone level required to be in favor of these moves.

Yelich is a guy i REALLY wanted, i would have traded just about anyone except Acuna for him.

But making those trades now would be insanely retarded. Cant wait to see Scheff respond when he sees them.

I don’t like to pile on but this is terrible.

No way I gut my farm and strap my payroll with zack. How the hell are you giving Bum a 6 year deal with that contract already on the books.

I haven't seen anything from you to suggest you are very smart.

You lick Enscheff's anus and take pot shots at people you don't know, best I can tell.

Look. I would love a big splashy move. But no we don’t have to go win. We have to be hot at the right time.

Can we get every ignorant poster to make a post detailing “how they see it”?

They will be valuable contributions to the board.
