The Twins are decent, but their record is inflated by beating up ****ty teams in the AL Central

Which in turn means we will never get the starting pitching required to seriously compete with the Dodgers/Astros/Yankees/Red Sox to win a World Series unless we trade from strength which would mean weakening other parts of the club unless we develop someone in the minors.
    Kinda depressing.
It sure would be nice if we could have a payroll more in line with our market and revenue size instead what Liberty is.
Oh well maybe we can get really hot on offense this year and next and just outscore teams like the Indians of the mid 90’s.

The Mutts are nipping on the Faillies heels. The fans might burn that city down if they finish fourth this year.

That's now how I read it. But I'd expect more than 130 opening day.

Not sure how true the 28-32 mil comment is, but you could always move Ender, and decline the Flowers/Julio options. Would hate to lose JD, but if someone guarantees him a 3-4 year deal at 25 plus a year, i cant blame AA for not going there.

He'll certainly have a market this winter, and if he leaves, AA will need a backup plan to replace him. He's been a godsend this year.

With how tight lipped AA's FO is, i dont know how true all of that is.

I'd give Josh 2 years plus option.

I also am hoping if we make it to NLCS or better he'll wanna stay close to home. He seems at home here on this team.

I’d no doubt bring JD back on a 2 year deal with an option. He seems like he really likes it here so I think it’ll happen. Plus he loves to win and he sees what we are doing here and are gonna be contenders for a long time. I’d decline Flowers and Teherans option and go after Grandal. With Pache gonna be ready next year I’d probably look to trade Ender this offseason. A lot of it will come down to our starting pitching and what they wanna do there.

Ender is on such a great deal I'd rather just decline Neck's option.

Ender can hold until Pache comes after May. I would definitely prefer to keep Pache's service time down. And Ender would be a great 4 OF and also be a good veteran presence to have.

They’re 26-28 against teams over .500. They’re the only division leader to have such a record.

We will never buy that caliber starting pitching. It's pretty important that we hit on a few guys like Soroka, Fried and Anderson.

Yep, and they're 37-14 against CHW, KC, DET, TOR, BAL, and SEA this year. Such is the state of the AL.

They are good, but a lot of things have gone right for them this season.

The Twins are a really good team and taking 2/3 against them at their place is super impressive. Outside of the Dodger's series next week, the rest of our non-division games are insanely easy. We get the Royals, the White Sox, the Blue Jays, the Giants, and the Rockies the rest of the way. We should really be able to run up the score on those teams, knock on wood.

Then we still got 7 vs. the Marlins. The fact that we still have a combined 21 games against the Mets, Phillies, and Nationals is a little scary, but I think the rest of our schedule should let us run up a big enough cushion that I'm not too concerned about us dropping our lead. We're in a great spot to grab the two seed and have a series against Cubs/Cards/Brewers. And I'd honestly rather face one of those teams rather than getting the Nationals or Mets out of a wild card like the Dodgers may have to face.

The Twins are a good team in a bad division, but they are not near as good as their record. What is impressive about beating them is what we did to their young ace in game two. What we did to Perez was predictable as he's been struggling a lot lately.

I know Julio has been good but if we only have 30 million I think you have to trade him or not do the option. Even if he’s a 3 win guy you think we can get close to that with minimum guys. It’s put up or shut up time for Wright and touki. Wilson is still young but close. Davidson is where he is to be a 5th starter option. Anderson is close.

Josh i would do do the Qo. I’d offer 2/40 maybe 2/40 with a team option. I know he’s been great but he’s still older with injuries.

If think Riley can be a good 3b. 250/320/475 type guy.

I think they should be able to get a David peralta cheap and platoon with Duvall or something.

It would be nice to get grandall on a one year deal but I said that last year.

I will not predict us to ever sign a guy with the qo until I see it.

Why? McGuirk put out a 140M number at the start of this season as the target he has in mind for 2020. That's all in, including roster churn and mid-season moves. Translates to about 130M opening day. Until I hear differently from someone in a position to know, I see no reason to assume something else.

    That’s my point.
Non of those guys are number 1 pitchers or will develop into a ace.
Soroka has been amazing but I think we can all say his ceiling is a good number 2.
Fried has been a godsend this season but looks to be a 3/4
I’m hoping Anderson will be close to those two.
Can you win a title with those 3 as your top pitchers?
Unless we have a generational offense I just don’t see it, which means we need to draft and develop an ace in the next 5-7 year window of contention or trade for one since your pretty much saying we aren’t spending money on anyone of that caliber.
    Pretty depressing.
I believe Houston is the blue print for us as far as a payroll matching a market size.
They make plenty or profit and put a good bit back into the product.Best of both worlds.
Sucks we are stuck with owners that don’t think that way.
