the real issue is their organization top-to-bottom. and they gave a few of those guys, including the GM Klentak, phantom extensions before the season began.
they are locked in to be garbage for a while.

The only thing that I don’t like about the Phillies being in 4th place is that it may cause Gabe Kapler to lose his job. I think he should get a contract extension

Kapler's not their main problem, at all. Sure he has his faults but lack of depth, bad farm, and lack of pitching depth hurts them way more than Kapler. Cutch going down was also a huge blow as well, really derailed their season.
