In fairness, when we acquired him and he became our closer he was absolute filth until the NLDS that year. Was striking out a bunch of dudes as our closer. Was throwing high 90's.
Amazing how not even 5 years later when we traded for he and D. Lee that his fastball speed dropped to 89-91 tops. Man having him pitch that extra inning playoff game 2 was crazy. I remember the Giants with the bases loaded to win the game, and Glaus, whom hadn't played 3rd base in forever, turned a double play to get us out of the inning.

heh, just looked Farns up. That year,. his ERA/FIP/xFIP were 2.19/2.75/2.94 (1.98/3.57/2.98 with Atlanta). It was one of only two years in his sixteen year career (2001 being the other) that any of those went under 3.

It'd be nice if Atlanta actually visited Cincinnati in a month outside of April.... I think this is at least 4 years in a row.
And that Sept schedule could be brutal.

Pleasantly surprised that the Braves aren't going to Denver in April again next year
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
Stoked to see the Bravos will visit Seattle! Finally an appearance for those of us in the Pacific Northwest.

I remember Glaus saying post-game he was going to second regardless if it was hit near him.
He also said he almost threw up when he went to the dugout.

similar thing happened with the double play Luis Avilan started against the Dodgers in the playoffs...our catcher (I think it was McCann) was screaming at him to go home but he went to second
both were poor decisions that worked out...still doesn't make them the right decision
