Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;......
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Get well soon Rico!
Prayers sent up for a fast and full recovery, Rico.
Seriously?!??! Never is nothing wrong with levity in serious situations. There is mad respect and well wishes for Rico here. I am sure any other poster would appreciate a thread like this from an online community they really don’t know personally.
If Sav had to call the 3rd shift salad bar manager at the OG to see if Cy has broken his restraining order recently or dollar tree to see if cheff has bought natty light the last few days or even the Burger King in central Mississippi to see if Mstate is still reporting for fry duty. All those guys would appreciate the concern and well wishes that we are rightfully giving Rico.

Praying for you, brother. Get well soon!!
I blame the Braves bullpen

So far, things are going about like I thought they would with a slight adjustment upwards for the unexpected development of Acuna into a 21 YO MVP candidate and Albies as a 22 YO All-Star, unexpectedly signed to super team friendly long term deals.
Having FF now makes the Braves a likely division winner. But having him doesn't make the Braves have a legit WS type rotation or a playoff caliber pen.
Again, FF is a great player - now and prior to now. That's why he would have brought a great return.
However, he's a month away from being 30. And the Braves are unlikely to be a serious WS threat, at least in 2019, due to pitching shortfalls. Is it fun watching FF? Of course. Is it fun watching the team win individual games to the tune of 90+ in a season instead of finishing at or below .500? Again, of course.
If a team with Freeman on it wins a WS, or even gets to a WS, then keeping Freeman was probably the best move.
Is the goal to win a WS championship and create a long term window of opportunity? If yes, then trading Freeman back when I said still makes sense assuming a great return and assuming the Braves fall short of critical mass necessary to truly be great, as opposed to good while Freeman is in his prime under contract.
i cannot believe "the Braves should've traded Freeman" is still an actual thought in someone's head. painfully stupid.

Rico--
A little over 6 years ago you came to Sports Boards and asked that I join you here. You asked several others and 4 came here. 1 to the chagrin of Enscheff and the other 2 stayed only a short time.
I've been back here for almost a year now. Please get well soon and don't leave us here with out your great inputs Thank for inviting me and for all you've done to make this board what it is today.
