I love that you skipped over a huge hint in the title on why he might be a piece of ****. Lol

Then went down some weird rabbit hole like usually do where you have your mind already made up

You’re the Rudy of this board but it’s not noun verb 9/11 with you

David Koch wanted to abolish public schools, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and rent control. He financed groups that denied the research on climate change. He funded the Tea Party. And he used dark money to support causes

Do you think I disagree with that opinion? Lol

You want a list, I gave ya one

You then are vague and instead of trying to fix it or offer a viable alternative he always was trying to destroy the programs

Even if that dudes opinion you stole was a list of bad things (SS, Medicare, Medicaid, RC are all disasters).. how does "trying" and presumably failing, mean he made the country worse?

"Worse" necessarily includes a value judgment. Something that might be worse to one person could be better to another.

That being said, I honestly hope I never celebrate because someone I disagree with politically dies. The demonization of political opponents is a huge part of what's wrong with American politics today. It's not disagreement about which course of action is best, it's a battle of good vs. evil.

As a result, I find sentiments such as those expressed in the title of this thread unspeakably sad.

When I watch American politics I feel like the only sane person at a banquet of people feasting on their own flesh. I can do nothing but watch with utter horror and revulsion as the whole thing eats itself.

    Yeah it's pretty bad.

Kind of sad that's where we are. The right started this by letting the Tea Party's vitriol and rhetoric get into the mainstream, which paved the way for people like Alex Jones, Limbaugh, Hannity, Carlson, and Post-CNN Glenn Beck to control the tone of the party.

I am pretty sad that some of the left have stooped down to that level. But I'm also not surprised considering the person who currently occupies the Oval Office. I know we're supposed to be bigger than that, but at the same time as I said, I'm not surprised it's what's happening.

It's why I laugh and eyeroll when thethe says asinine things like Obama was a divisive figure who created divide and hateful rhetoric.

I'm not an emotional basket case like you, so I'm not upset.

But am sad a good man died, and the left celebrates as if they just go laid for the first time

It goes back far longer than that. If I had to place a turning point I would say it was the Clinton impeachment.

I liken politics over the last 25 years to a spinning plate. At the start it spins perfectly. Then comes the first slight wobble. With each revolution the wobble gets progressively worse and worse until the plate comes crashing down.

I think Clinton's impeachment was the first wobble. Each time one party pulls something, the other party one ups them. With each revolution the wobble gets worse and worse.

Instead of someone restoring sanity we have the extremity of one party driving the other party to further extremes. This in turn drives the first party out even further in reaction.
