    O'day is a lefty?

Besides there is no guarantee Inciarte comes back
I like the idea of Hamilton on the bench as well for those very reasons. And if Ender doesn’t come back I’m sure he’ll be there.

See I think Blevins makes it whether Minter makes it or not. The question for me is do we we have 3 capable lefty relievers or does Fried have to step in as the 3rd?

Getting O’Day to the active 40 is not a negligible task.

If nothing else, having Hamilton in September might be huge.

Figuring out who will make postseason roster is too difficult

Not to mention that if he doesn’t pitch in the majors before 9/1 he can only be added to postseason roster as an injury replacement.

    I don’t believe that’s the case.

as long as he is in the organization i think we are fine, just need to remove someone from the 40-man to make room.

Ajax dfa? Could happen if we decide to roster someone currently on the 60 day.

I doubt it. I’d think Ortega would be the one to go.

I really want no part of Markakis coming back from a wrist injury for whatever part of the season remains when he is cleared to play.

Joyce can provide what Markakis brings at the plate with more power potential.

So that’s a fair point. I just can’t imagine them leaving him off the roster if he can play. However if they decided to go that route they could move him to the 60 day IL vs DFAing someone on the roster if a 40 man crunch occurs. Of course that opens up a bench opportunity as well for someone like Hamilton Duvall or Riley.

I know what they will do. He will be treated like he is a star player and be given a starting spot no matter how bad he hits. Then after he hits below the Melvin line for the rest of the year of the playoffs they blame it on the wrist injury and say hindsight is 20/20.

Seems mildly wasteful, but of a piece with parsons.

Candidates would seem to be Ortega, Jackson, maybe Hechy when Swanson returns.

Dayton’s already on the 60 Day IL so that wouldn’t help.
