The Braves will be able to extend Donaldson a QO which should depress his market value some. Because of the QO AA has the advantage over the other teams that will want him. Donaldson signed quickly with the Braves this winter. I know money was a factor but the speed makes me think he really wanted to be a Brave.

It will hurt his market some maybe, not sure enough where teams wont pursue him per say.

Exactly. The Braves can survive going 2-5 in those games and still have a good grip on the division.

With the advantage of a softer schedule, we should coast to a division title.

Moose has settled for 2 contracts in an row for 1 year, and was signed late in the off season both years. Nobody is giving him 3+ years.

The market for mid-30s hitters is completely different than it was 5 years ago.

    Was talking the division.

I'm not that big on the Mets, but I will really laugh if they edge out the Cubs for the 2nd wild card.

It will hurt his market a great deal, just like it hurt DK’s and Grandall’s market.

The Braves should be able to get JD with a high AAV 1-2 year deal if AA wants him. Hopefully the same for Grandal as well.

    Ah, kinda figured that.

Nats are the only team with a real shot at the division.

Been basically ours since the June 21st-23rd series against Washington where we gave them the death blow.

Will he-who-must-not-be-named ever admit he was wrong about that series being the season defining moment for both teams and a lot of us were right?

This. It will no doubt hurt his market. If AA wants him he should be able to get him pretty easily. Donaldson really seems to like it here and sees how good we’ll be for a long time. I think they’ll get JD signed pretty quick and out of the way so they can address C, OF, and SP.

cubs cannot even win one damn game, pathetic. Nats about to sweep with the a very easy schedule this week including the O's and Marlins. Braves have a tough travel schedule so Nats have a good shot to pick up ground even if we play well. Looks like we will have to settle this ourselves in Sept.

Yep pretty pathetic, im hoping Bal and Mia can somehow get 1 game off Was but with how hot they are, im not counting on that.

Our schedule seems easy enough till you factor in the crazy travel this week. Nats get Monday off before hosting Baltimore and have the Marlins this weekend who just lost Anderson. One of the few good hitters they had to do damage.

Yes, but the Braves will eventually cool off. The Nats will not because they are unstoppable.

Both teams could cool off, but Braves are more likely to this week just due to that crazy schedule. Nats might not till they face us, so I could see them getting closer leading up to those two big series but I expect us to take care of them ourselves like we did last time in D.C.
