It's a good idea if it's a good pitch to hit. It wasn't. I don't think Charlie is good enough of a hitter to play that game.

Marginal hitters are precisely the hitters that benefit the most! Really good hitters in this game have larger timing windows. The Culbersons of baseball need to get predictable pitches and not miss them. The pitch he chose was a fastball up. Good sac fly potential. If he gets to it, it’s a potential sac fly, most would call that a great at bat.

With Acuna and Albies signed so cheap, I'd offer him 3 years 60 million if that's what it took. Keep the core that we know is working together for a while longer.
