So Camargo goes down to AAA and puts up an OPS of 1.221. He hits a double and home run in his first two ABs back.

And Snit goes with Hamilton instead of him as a pinch hitter last night and now goes with Riley and Duvall against a lefty.

Hope this doesn't mean that Camargo won't be seriously considered for a spot on the post-season roster. He needs to be in the mix. And he needs some ABs so the team can evaluate how well he is swinging the bat.

I think Snit is not a fan of Camargo's casual and laid back attitude.

Freeman's numbers against lefties this year surprised me. I would've thought they were better. Lowest since 2015.

I can't really fault Snit for using Riley in cOF over Camargo vs a LHP. Now the fact Riley is in RF while Duvall is in LF is a bit odd, but whatever.

Riley has handled the OF pretty well, and I think he's most likely to be the best platoon option in a cOF slot.

One of his worst defensive seasons as well.

Both split numbers and defensive scores are pretty volatile from year to year. Small samples. No one accumulates a large number of ABs against lefty pitching in a single season. In both cases, I am inclined to say it is mostly noise.

He's also had a relatively unlucky season with respect to BABIP.

Maybe so. UZR says his range is well below anything he has shown to this point in his career though. My eye test would tend to agree that he's had a disappointing year in the field. Odd considering he's been fairly healthy.

Just something to keep an eye on as we get closer to his contract expiration.

Not sure if it's quantified but he has saved so many errors from our infielders with his stretches and scoops in the dirt at first.

One of the best I've ever seen pick up his infielders from bad and errant throws at first.

Nervous about tonight’s game with SAV’s GDT title. Gonna take a YUGE performance from Riley and DK to overcome this early deficit.

Probably thinks he’s the reason Acuña didn’t sprint on that ball against LA.

Nope that was my fault. I’m pretty sure I’m 0 for the season in GDTs. I started a GDT that series and was at the game behind home plate when Acuña got benched. So I’ll take the blame there

There was no issue with today's GDT title. Take it back. I am just prepping myself for when I go back to Europe in a few weeks for work.

Riley and duvall both have an 1100+ ops against lefties this year. It's the right call since both can actually play a corner OF spot as well.

Corbin has his work cut out for him tonight.

When the Nats bring in a RHP to neutralize the bottom half of this lineup in the 6th/7th inning, I hope Snit is ready to counter with PHers.
