Yup the Braves are definitely trolling the gnats. Another game where we let them get just close enough to crush their souls.

Well they are obviously not going to continue pitching 6-7 shutout innings every start, but don't sell them short. I have no problem referring to them as very good, especially with Soroka and Fried leading the way.

In his last 7 starts he has a 2.76 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP and hasn't given up more than 3 earned runs in a start.

He's at 152.2 innings pitched. This is not a huge workload for him thus far. He pitched 153.2 innings in 2017 and 143 innings in 2016.

Always easy to get over excited during winning streaks. However, it's likely another tough stretch is around the corner for us. That's baseball.

    Meanwhile, it certainly looks like Fried could be turning into a stud. His last 7 starts: 2.90 ERA, .259 wOBA against, 2.07 FIP, 2.56 xFIP, 11.4 K/9 (31.3% K-rate), 1.8 BB/9 (4.9% BB-rate), 0.4 HR/9.

His ability to add high quality pitches to his arsenal has been truly remarkable and speaks to his excellent athleticism.

I’m guessing a legit cutter is next based off the cut action we see in some of his heaters. He will then have a full set of tools and command required to be a TOR guy for a couple years.

The thing I'm most impressed with is how quickly he improved his control and command.

He got over blister problems and has been able to get into a groove.

Sorry, but kindly do not put words in my mouth. My stance on Donaldson has not changed, will not change and I will be perfectly fine when someone else pays him. The Braves don't shell out short mega contracts. They didn't for Sheff, Drew, or Tex. I just don't care for guys that carry themselves the way Donaldson does. Chipper is cocky but he let his bat talk. He didn't hush the other dugout, brag about the back of his baseball card, etc. You all just need to get over that I don't care for him.

So, as a latecomer in these parts, I have to ask a question. I don't really care for Donaldson myself (the back of the baseball card didn't bother me, but I don't like his overly-confrontational ways). But surely you do agree he's having an excellent season and has been a huge boon for the offense?

VirginiaBrave always admits when he’s wrong. So, no, Donaldson is not having a great season. Those are the facts.

I have no issue with what he has done on the field. He has done what he was brought here to do. It just took him two months to get started. I just can't stomach the attitude. In short, it doesn't matter to me what he does for the offense.

I think it's perfectly ok to dislike a player on esthetic grounds. But that should be set aside when analyzing whether the front office should try to bring him back and on what terms.
