    From the rulebook:

"In establishing the validity of the catch, the fielder shall hold the ball long enough to prove that he has complete control of the ball and that his release of the ball is voluntary and intentional. "

I would guess the intentional, voluntary release language means it is not a catch.

Yeah. It was questionable, but I don’t think that was a catch either.

    You’re probably correct.

I'm actually curious; that's a piece of language from the rules I cannot recall ever having heard before in nearly four decades of baseball fandom. Has anyone else, or is this something that really comes up that rarely?

Lol, and now we’re getting mowed down by the worst bullpen in the league.

I think the worst bullpen is still Washington's though.
Aggression with prospects is fine, but being stupid is not. There should be a way to find a happy medium between a Pirates like idea of being overly cautious with prospects and going stupidly fast with prospects.

Nats vs Twins game is 0-0. Anibal has only given up 1 hit. Berrios has only given up 2 hits to the Nats.

You really think runs scored is a function of the offensive teams pitcher?

Didn't you hear Chip and Francoeur just a week or two ago determining that a pitchers earns his run support?

Don’t mind exposing Minter in tight games with very little to play for the rest of the season. The Braves desparately need a LH relief pitcher.

With that said, Minter just seems cooked. Hopefully, a long offseason will be a good reset for him.
