Braves already into surplus-value territory on the guaranteed portion of his extension. Wonder if they’ll be picking up that option ...

In MLB history.
1) Alomar
2) Eddie Collins
3) Ozzie
Ozzie has been a rock of this team all year. The improvements are consistent. The kid can rake.

The baseball is on steroids. Today is worse than the steroid era. Baseball is a joke right now.

His numbers this season are otherworldly as a right-handed hitter. .397/.422/.699/1.121. 21 XBH in 146 AB.
Interestingly, last year he had almost 50 more PA against lefties than this year. Could be coincidence, but it's probably also teams avoiding his right side at all cost.
I applaud him for getting things turned around from the left side this year. For the second half last year and the first 2 months this year it was looking to me like he should ditch switch hitting.

It's important to note that folks who thought Albies would have "Atuve power" are not proven correct with his power output.
"Altuve power" with the 2019 super ball is about a .250 ISO. Albies' current .209 number is quite a bit below that. As is his 120 wRC+ value well below Altuve's 134.
But sure, if someone predicted, "Albies has 30 HR pop if they replace the baseball with a golf ball", they would have been proven correct.
At least Albies wasn't traded to make room for Travis Demerritte like many around here were suggesting when Ozzie was recovering from the broken elbow in AAA.
In fairness, Altuve didn't have "Altuve power" (.250 ISO) when he was 22.
Before his elbow fracture, were people not predicting something like this for Albies? Acuna quickly overshadowed him, but I remember those days when Albies was the sun and moon for the franchise when he was 18 or so.
I'm not sure what the point of this post is. Ozzie is only 22. Altuve didn't develop much power til he was 25. Albies was at .171 his rookie season at age 20 compared to Altuve's .202 the same year at age 27. Last year, Ozzie had a substantially higher ISO.
I'm not going to predict the Ozzie will reach 30 homers and I doubt he consistently hits 25 homers or more (few do) but it certainly isn't nearly as unlikely as you pretend it is. He's improved his ISO every season thus far and is only 22.
I have no doubt Ozzie can reach 30 HRs if the ball remains as is. All that has to happen is a single flukey month where he pops 10 and he will likely reach that mark.
Of course, that's pretty much the case for all MLB hitters with the current ball.
