Replace Kingery with Acuna and this statement is still the same.

LMAO. Soroka can't get a sinker fully in the zone but Nola gets that **** three inches off the plate.

This is a fact. Acuna ranks #126 out of 139 qualified batters in contact percentage on pitches in the strike zone. He appears to be selling out for power a bit too much, very similarly to Donaldson (who ranks #137).

This makes a lot of sense. Do you think it would be wise to sell a bit less and reduce these numbers or keep as his normal rate? He's obviously very successful as is.

In Ortega's 3 years in MLB he's never played 2nd or any position other than OF. Joyce has not played 1st. You could use Duval at 1st.

No idea. The talk when Acuna was a prospect was that he could either go the route of an excellent well rounded player or turn into an elite slugger, and he could probably choose which path he wanted to take.

I don't think even Acuna knows yet exactly how he wants to progress, but I do think he's pressing a bit to reach 40/40.

Well he doesn't have to press for 40 homers anymore

Glad that's over. Now hopefully Acuna can get back to his old self.

Now we just hope he doesn't hurt himself sliding head first trying to steal a meaningless base.

For sure. I think you're completely right. Now, he just needs to press himself into a good postseason and I'll be happy. lol

As always, thanks for the insight.

40/40 is neat but stolen bases seems so meaningless in the modern game, and have been devalued enough from the saber crowd that it's more of a fun fact. I'd rather Ron not rip a shoulder like furcal did trying to steal.

The guy is fast enough to score from 1st on a double that it doesn't mean kuch for him yo steal 2nd that much.

I'd prefer 40/20 sliding feet first since SBs simply aren't that valuable and it's only a matter of time before he breaks a finger sliding into a base.

Acuna is most valuable at the plate not risking hand injuries.
