Holbrook called someone out when they were really safe. That is pretty much all you need to know

There was a ball popped up toward the outfield, Soto ran in 2 yards, Turner ran in 150 yards from ss toward the outfield, stopped, let the ball drop about 75 yards away from him and about 5 yards from Soto and Holbrook threw up his hands and called for an infield fly. Costs the Nats 2 runs.

Lol kidding. Turner ran down the first base line in foul territory, aligned himself with the line (at this point he wasn't in fair or foul territory), lunged toward first base, got the bag, and ended up in foul territory. The throw took the first basemen into the runner, ball and runner arrived at the same time, ball shot into right field, everyone safe. Holbrook rulled batter ran out of the baseline and automatically out.

It was a truly baffling call, and even more baffling that they couldn't correct it after 10 minutes of review.

Holbrook is that guy who tries to be so smart and ends up misapplying whatever "fact" he thinks he knows.

No one gets mad at human error. We get it. It is the refusal to swallow being wrong and get it correct that really infuriates people.

Yep, Houston had to end it in 6, dont trust them at all tonight. Not to mention with Stras going 8 1/3, their entire pen is pretty much fresh. Dont imagine Martinez will use anyone tonight except for Max, Corbin, Sanchez, Doo, and Hudson.

I’d love to see the Gnats lose tonight by giving up 11 runs in the first inning

Turner ran on the IF side of the line. So much so his left foot was on the grass for at least 3 strides. He then moved to the right and was in front of the throw to 1st. He was not in foul territory. The interference rule is the most confusing of all MLB rules. I believe the ruling of no protest allowed is what sent Martinez into final tizzy. That small amount of time to settle the dispute of call and protest destroyed what was going to be a really great WS and will be remembered far more than the actual play on the field.

Holbrook needs to be eliminated from all PS games, or eliminated from the ranks of MLB umpires.

Verlander is the one with no trust IMO. He was his typical self. Extended his WS record to 6 losses with out a win.

Feels too much like G1 and G6, Houston has base runners every inning and cant do much about it.

Everyone talking about Verlander and Scherzer being sure-fire Hall of Famers.

    Greinke says, “Hi.”
