for those that like the “this batter is x for SSSy against this pitcher” game, Grandal was 1/16 with 9 Ks vs Scherz. and those are worse numbers than the “1 for 6 with 2 Ks” numbers people tout.

Honestly, the way they’ve been pitching lately (last 7/14/30 days), they would have been best served to start Stras for tonight’s game.

If Scherzer can’t go at least 6, and the Nats bullpen is forced to come in, it’s over. It would be a good idea to pitch Strasburg/Corbin in relief, but Martinez isn’t very smart so that’s probably not going to happen.

I would have gone Stras, he's been their best pitcher this year. But i knew they'd go Max in this one.
