Neck was exposed tonight. Twit is always exposed. We can still win this series based on talent.

On a much better note, Acuna is freaking amazing. He’s just unreal. I can’t believe have him for the next decade.

Wong’s “double” was at least 6 inches outside of the 1B bag! I have taken several looks at it and paused it, etc.

I hope they let the Markakis boat sail this offseason. He’s definitely not a starter anymore imo. After Donaldson the lineup goes downhill fast. Acuna getting caught stealing in the 1st inning turned out to be huge.

Hell even in the 9th those extra runs from Wong Newk should have been in there but wasnt.
Snit wanted to make sure we all knew he wasn’t capable of making the right decision, so he did it twice. Really drive home the point.

Braves are cursed, and Cards/Braves are much closer in talent than the records show.

Not going to whine about that but I do agree it looked foul. Porter was terrible at first imo

southcack, please come defend markakis. you told me repeatedly he’d be replaced if he was ineffective. here he is batting 5th in the postseason.

I just hope that the result of losing speaks to Acuña better than any "chewing out" or benching ever will. Doing little things right is literally the difference between winning and losing. Yeah, I know he hit a two run bomb in the ninth. Too bad he couldn't have been on third base with one out earlier in the game...one run loss.

That's the much bigger issue, the top 4 is very good, but once you get past JD, it's pretty easy pickings. AA needs to find a way to lengthen the lineup this winter. Too many easy outs after JD.

Pache and Waters becoming 3+ WAR players would be a start.

On the bright side (I guess), that was the closest NLDS Game 1 loss we’ve played....ever.

especially when the 5 hitter can’t play a lick of defense either

I really like Snit, but he was a disaster. Inexcusable that Melancon was left in to face Wong.

Consistently made the wrong move throughout the game (bunt with DK), not double switching when he brought in Melancon in the 8th (Cards could have burned Melancon if they IBB Swanson).

Somehow the Braves media will make this about Acuna admiring a single...

That's what I'd call a pretty dark bright side.

It's unbelievable that Snitker not only let Jackson face Wong in the 8th, but he let Melancon face Wong again in the 9th when MM was alreayd at like 26 pitches.

Melancon is unavailable tomorrow because Snit left him out there to die instead of bringing in Newk who could pitch multiple innings. Martin is hurt. Meaning if we somehow are in a close game tomorrow we're gonna have to rely on Greene/Newk to close.

He did get a double to set up the 2 runs to make it 3-1. There were 2 doubles after the awful throws, so they score even if he holds Fowler at 2nd. Weird to blame everything on markakis although he certainly helped contribute to the loss
