    Out of the box thought

I think most of the posters on this board know that the Braves players will "run thru a wall" for Snits. That's a good trait for a manger to have that much respect from players.

At the same time, I think most of the posters on the board have a BIG problem with the tactical game that Snit plays.

I don't think this has ever been done in MLB before, but why not hire a special bench coach who is extremely strong in the tactical game. Have that coach make ALL the tactical decisions regarding who and when to PH for with whom. Also, in deploying the BP guys. Manage a stronger tactical game and not be "just an input" guy like Weiss and not be a "yes" man. Take the tactical game out of Snits hands.

We have seen Snits very badly out managed in the 2 playoff games this year, not to mention all of the tactical poorly managed games thru the 3 seasons that he has been manager.

    OK, take your shots!!!

Ideally, yes the bench coach should be the guy feeding the manager all the options. I don't see the bench coach making the final decisions, but he should make sure that all the nuances have been considered.

I don't think Snit has been outmanaged in this series. Schildt has made some pretty questionable decisions, especially leaving in Flaherty for so long.

Shildts only questionable move was leaving Flaherty in too long.

He has soundly out managed Snit in both games.
