Dodgers want no part of these massive contracts. Always preferring to keep the commitments short.

Expect AA to do the mid-market version of that approach when it comes to Donaldson and Ozuna. I can’t see us committing anything past 3 years for either.

No body say anything about this but Rangers trade Mazara and maybe they will check on Ozuna and Castellanos.

When the Angels add Freeman in a couple years they are going to have quite a formidable middle of the lineup and have a huge amount of money tied up in aging players.

As long as the Braves win the WS the year preceding Freeman’s departure to LAA, we can probably stomach it.

Lol why don’t we worry about 2020 first before we put Freeman in an Angels uniform? Jesus.

As long as he stays out of the division. An AL team is probably a better fit for him at this stage of his career to get the most money.

So much for that talk of Rendon perhaps preferring a shorter deal with a higher AAV.

Remember when we thought $40M to Smith was a big deal? The last few days have once again reminded us that there are very different universes in MLB.

The Dodgers bid 8/300 on Cole. Seems they were ok with that massive contract.

Would it have made more sense for the Nats the sign Rendon rather than Strasburg?

Did not see that one. 4/100 for Donaldson it is then!

All things being equal, I would have rather paid the position player vs the pitcher. Way more can go wrong with a pitcher than a hitter, they play every day, and not to mention they’re ok with Scherzer and Corbin.

Rendon didn’t want any part of the Nats deferred money game, which sorta ruled him out it seems.

You absolutely, 100%, did not list Ohtani in the post that was quoted in the reply that I quoted.

If they will be, why is everyone worried about paying Donaldson for the next 4 years? He played 155 games last season after all.
If Trout's numbers are still amazing at 30 or 31, then we shouldn't be concerned about paying Donaldson into his age 37 season? That is the logic you're deciding to employ?

I swear sometimes your logic goalposts are epileptic.

I just spent the last two days curled up in a fetal position with no guidance or direction. That **** better not happen again.
