I don't think ANYONE wants to commit 4/$100 million to Donaldson but I said last week that that's probably what it's going to take, and I still believe that.
You keep posting the same thing multiple times a day. We know you want Ozuna and a platoon of Riley/Shaw at third. You don’t need to keep posting it every 5 posts on the thread. We get it.

I have a very bad feeling the Braves are going to bring in some reclamation project like Maikel Franco to stick at 3B.

You missed the master plan. The Riley/Shaw platoon is just a temporary solution that showcases Riley until we are able to include him with a package of prospects in a trade for an ace.
Clubs are always looking to acquire a young platoon bat.

    Lol ok boomer.

Most will disagree that you just described a 15+ game improvement over their 2019 win total, but keep blabbering.

The upward tick in Bumgarner’s stuff overall suggests that, like Wheeler, he might need only to harness it properly to further bolster his performance. I thought this was interesting too. But I read this and think, "Hey, that's a guy I wouldn't mind taking a cheap flyer on" and not "Hey, that's a guy I want to give four years and big money."

Not sure what council you are referring to, but no one is 100 percent accurate. But the experts have been pretty damn close on several contracts so far. Certainly way closer than any of your hair-brained predictions thus far (of which there are many).

But their Pythagorean was 80-82, so they really only need 10 wins...

Reds were 23-33 in 1 run games so that should improve a little. BRef and Fangraphs both had them at 77 wins according to WAR.

Right now depth charts has them as an 80 win team after adding Moose. Adding Didi and Wheeler would push them to around 84 wins. That's a range that can definitely compete for a WC spot if things go right.

And their 3rd Order Win% had them at 86 wins, so they really only need 4! Unfortunately their 1st Order Win% had them at 79 wins so now they are back to 11. BUT! Their 2nd Order Win% had them at 85 so they're still fine. Unfortunately their actual record was 75-87 so they are back to needing 15.

    Yes, fans are stupid.

    Charlie
3:04 Was Culberson being non-tendered a shrewd move by the Braves?
    Steve Adams
3:05 He was a strict pinch-hitter/defensive replacement last year projected to earn almost $2MM, and he OBP'ed like .290 in 2019. He's not exactly irreplaceable -- popular as he was in Atlanta.

(Which is funny, because for the first two months of the 2018 season I had Braves fans lamenting what a waste of space Culberson was in every chat I hosted)

This is roughly where I'm at with them as well, but the Reds are a team that has an extremely wide range of potential outcomes. They have a lot of uncertainty in that outfield, but also a good bit of upside. They need a lot to go right with their young players like Aquino, Ervin, Senzel, and Winker. If they can get good years from them and add Wheeler to that rotation, I could see them being a WC threat.

Can't overlook the fact that the Brewers, at this point at least, will go into the season weaker on paper. The Cubs are also a year older, coming off a year they missed the playoffs.....

The Reds should be very competitive in that division

They need to improve 15 games to catch who? The Brewers? The Pirates? The Cubs who have no money to spend?

Then again....I bet he wouldn’t crap his pants and give up ten runs in the first inning....so there’s that.

I know you can call me crazy but there rumors Milwaukee are listening to trade offers for Josh Hader. They non tendered Travis Shaw or Jimmy Nelson. Grandal and Moustakas walk away. We should make a big offer for Christian Yelich.

He’d just give up six runs over six innings like an #ace.
