Because Bryant is the better player and is versatile and carries far less risk. Post-2021 you just swap out 1 of Bryant or Freeman for Waters.

Is Snit gonna Bat Acuna lead off all year? Would like to see him hit 2nd or 4th.

Acuna should be leadoff, dont know why alot of people want him down in the order. He sets the table for the rest of the lineup.

Because he's an ideal No. 2 hitter. That said, if you don't have a true leadoff guy, Acuna is still a great opinion.

Yeah, I agree if we ever came across another Furcal type, its silly not to move RAJ down. He has too much damage potential to just say he's leadoff for next decade full stop. I hope as he matures he will realize he has the skills for that 3 slot when Freeman exits. Although maturity seems to be taking its time with him from a baseball perspective. On the plus side though his Cadilac skills are top-notch.

Because he's too good of a hitter to hit leadoff. You want your best hitters to be in a position to hit with men on base. Acuna led off an inning 275 times this year. That's 275 times that there was no chance for him to knock in a run other than himself. Compare that Freeman who led off an inning a mere 86 times last year. That simply can't happen.

And before you say he hits better in the leadoff, just stop. He hit .200 with a .694 OPS in the 1st inning this past season.

The leadoff hitter should be Ozzie or Swanson. Ender against RHP and Swanson against LHP would probably be the best scenario.

Depending on how the rest of off season goes (JD inserted here) I would ponder on Freddie hitting cleanup against RH pitchers and Acuna against LHers. In the good old days your homerun hitters almost always hit cleanup. Should have included that Freddie and Acuna would swap out hitting 3rd as well.

Matt Liberatore to the Cards, per Passan.

You also need to include how many times he hit second. Because that probably also resulted with him hitting with no one on base. Having your best run producer hit infront of the pitcher is astonishingly dumb.

I can sadly see Cards flipping Liberatore for Arenado. Obviously more would have to be included. Edman would make sense for the Rays.

Screw Donaldson and trade Freeman for Betts. Way better player for the age and money. I'm tired of paying that much money for old guys that didn't produce in the playoffs. Betts will cost but not as much as them two with a young team and more money to spend on pitching and other things!

The cards are not rebuilding. So this smells of a deal before another deal.

Maybe the Cards are signing Donaldson

Might be. I won’t go that far though. Trade for another trade are very hard. Any team could jump in at last minute and sink the deal. Would the cards trade Gorman and Libby for Nolan. That seems like an overpay.

Ken said 6 pieces involved, 2 draft picks, and 3 pieces from each side. Wonder what the hold up is.

Do we really want Swanson or Ender potentially getting more at bats every game than Acuna?
