"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
So basically, their argument is that he was yelling that only because Osuna blew a save, and he didn't notice the reporters were all women, because he's a clueless idiot? Interesting defense.
He should be castrated in public, forced to wear the empty sack of skin as a hat for 17 years, and barred from working in any profession other than crash test dummy for the rest of his life.
Those women were likely scared for their lives, and will be forever emotionally, mentally and possibly physically scarred after surviving such an ordeal.
Examples must be made out of male scum like this.

I mean, sure, but I wouldn’t want a guy like that working for me, not the least of which due to how horrible it makes my organization look.
At worst he’s a terrible human being, at best he’s an absolute moron. Doesn’t mean I think he should be buried alive and not given another chance at some point down the line, but those are the facts.

I really don’t care to be honest. I’d be annoyed too if I caught that much heat too. Plus I suspect there is more to the story. Any way it was a good sign. I would have made a move for the guy here. I remember a time when sports was about sports and the courts handled this kind of thing.
Looks like a prime example of the signature "Locker Room Talk" made famous by our President. It did happen in the locker room afterall. Too much testosterone.
Forever Fredi
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
Anything that's worth doing is worth over doing
how is he still employed?
and have the Astros apologized to the reporter for the smear job they tried to do?
"For there is always light, if only we are brave enough to see it. If only we are brave enough to be it." Amanda Gorman
"When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross"
Sometimes it takes me a while to get things, but could someone walk me through why this guy should be fired again?
The conduct is him shouting about how the Astros were correct to sign a player that some media media were critical of the Astros signing (for reasonable reasons)?
And this is a firing offense because some of the critical media members were women and were in the room when the shouting took place?
the original sin was signing Osuna...sometimes original sins lead to a fall even one that is not immediate
let me walk you through a slightly different scenario
the Braves sign Vazquez
a reporter covering the braves wears a bracelet in support of victims of pedophiles and tweets a phone number where such victims can seek help
after a big game involving Vazquez a member of the front office shouts at this reporter that Vazquez was a great signing
i'll leave the rest for you to fill in
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
i'm not saying its the same
my point is that if you hire someone with baggage you better have an understanding of what comes with that baggage and watch how you conduct yourself...you are in effect putting yourself under a microscope where any missteps get magnified...people generally get the benefit of the doubt...but less so when they hire someone like Osuna
another example
Michael Vick
after he has a big game do you think it would be appropriate to taunt a reporter who might have written an article or two about animal cruelty

Super (10-23-2019)
the facts here:
1) Astros trade for a domestic abuser
2) Astros exec taunts reporters about what a great signing it was
3) Astros lie and deny it happened
4) Astros exec issues very generic apology about being sorry if anything he did was offensive

I don't think he should be fired. But I think the Astros have a problem and would be best served by being more forthright about it.
And yeah, Taubman behaved in a shameful manner. Maybe he has some redeeming qualities. I leave it to those who know him better than I do to make the determination.

i would say it was further than taunting. he yelled and cursed at them..."them" being the women in the room, perhaps mostly targeting the one.
it's pretty ****ing gross. they're tired of hearing about...but he beat a woman and you took him on. you're going to hear about it forever.
legit rooting for the Nats now. not just because this happened, but Houston's response to it was brutally bad.
