Forever Fredi
I mean if you're not allowed to talk with other teams about possible trades, what are we doing here?
It feels like Clark went full Leeroy Jenkins on this one. AA's statement is very vague, imo.
thank you weso1!
So AA talked to 27 other GMs and derived info to enable him to delve into the off season somewhat well prepared and it comes back reading like he is the only one chastised by Tony Clark and his police are going to investigate. Does anyone really believe all GMs haven't talked almost daily since season ended.
It's been painfully obvious the last few years that the major league clubs have been illegally colluding (again), and somehow we have the GM who manages to make a public statement that sounds as if he is admitting it. What is wrong with us?
Tony’s just trying to save his job after last winter’s market correction. Nothing to see here.
This. After watching Trump dance around everything that has come out of his mouth for the last three years, AA's statement seems plenty vague enough to walk back.
What would be interesting to see is a chart comparing dollars spent to sign free-agents during the market correction to the WAR those dollars produced. I'd imagine that's something Clark doesn't want front offices to produce - maybe someone here can whip that up to take a look at.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
LMAO
What a clown.
Nothing to see here
No collusion.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."

This is such a non-story.
"Hey Theo. You could really use some pitching. We have a young pitcher or two that might be available. You interested?"
"No Alex, we're going to try to see what we can do in free agency before exploring trades for pitchers"
This kind of conversation would explain AA's statement and also not be against the rules.
They're grasping at straws.
Nothing on the Dodgers and Yankees international bs and blatant rule violations, but the Braves mention the state of FA, and we gotta shut em down. What a joke.

Pretty weak response from AA. Not a surprise after the tomahawk chop fiasco. I think I would have come out a bit stronger pointing out the absurdity of the grump from Clark.
thank you weso1!

Very emblematic of the Tony Clark era to focus on nothing burgers while simultaneously allowing the owners to run roughshod over the players.
Maybe you shouldn’t elect a baseball player to fill a lawyer’s job.
To quote someone far more famous than I am, "Much ado about nothing".
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;......
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
