Never got into Star Trek, have seen the abrams trilogy and kinda liked it. Where should I start at?

It is a lot, but if you are wanting to watch Picard with at least the main backstory in place - https://www.space.com/star-trek-pica...ing-guide.html

I am not sure what it would be like watching Picard with little or no exposure to TNG or even Star Trek, but Stewart is absolutely KILLING it, so that in and of itself is worth watching.

I want to see Picard, but I won't get another subscription service for it. I'm assuming at some point they'll putit for rent on Amazon or something. But maybe not.

I'm sorta confused why they were using a has been like Mark Hamill in the latest movies but kept the far superior actor in Stewart on television. Seems backwards.
