The Democratic Party Primaries : 2/3/20 The Iowa Caucuses

    No official returns in.

But have been watching coverage on a few channels. The big 3 (biden, Warren, Bernie) have not made viability in some cities. Sanders has been doing mostly well statewide with Biden and Buttigieg fighting for that moderate vote. Klobuchar has had a surprise showing.

All we know is Biden is the clear loser.

    I have to ask...

Has anyone ever seen the Mets and the Democrats in the same room?

The candidates spend months in Iowa, with millions of dollars in ads,

and it all comes down to this ****ery? The way we cling to

bull**** traditions in this country is pathetic.

I want to know more about the company that developed this app. Did the Buttigieg campaign really fund it.

So to clarify, they didn't fund it, they hired them. As did the Biden Campaign.

Just to point out, 96% reporting, Sanders and Buttigieg are the big winners, considering Sanders himself has been in Washington dealing with the joke trial of Trump where we knew the Senate would convict him even with Trump holding the smoking gun. Biden who had all the time to Campaign finished 4th behind 2 people who weren't able to campaign in person.

If the "party" is smart, they'll convince Biden to step down and have him endorse Buttigieg or Warren as Sanders is setting up to roll his way as long as the field stays broad.

Yeah Biden is toast. Really surprised by Buttigieg's showing, but Bloomberg benefited the most here. I really think Bloomberg will start to take control of this race soon.

I wouldn’t put money on that. He may end up being the anyone-but-Bernie candidate of last resort, but that’s a fair piece from taking control of the race.

Buttigieg is a midwestern guy who's had the most time to campaign given he's not holding a current job. He's been campaigning for a long time. Sometime this fall or summer (I forget when) he came by my girlfriend's parents restaurant for a visit. He's been doing this a lot. Unlike Sanders, Warren and Knoblachar who are also holding seats in the Senate that they have to take care of. He's done a good job and seems like the party's backup plan.

What will be intersting to see is the Billionaires, how long they're in it and what effect do they have on it. Steyer seems to be running as a dark horse type of candidate who's main job is to push a progressive agenda, Ralph Nadaring it if you would. He is touting his ability ot beat Trump on the economy (I guess saying I'm a better Billionaire than you, with the tax records to prove it)

Then there's Bloomburg. He has the money. He's worth about 20 times what Trump is worth. He is choosing to not even pay attention to any state before Super Tuesday. He doesn't care if he has 0 delegates from Iowa, NH, Nevada and SC. It's a bold strategy but he's goign with the idea of whoever wins Super Tuesday wins the nomination. Biden performing poorly is great news for him. Because it means that the moderate favorite is in flux. Which means in he could fill that void.

Personally I like Sanders to win the thing. Especialyl as the field stays wide. Kind of similar to Trump in 2016. Trump carried 45% of the vote, but Super Tuesday he carried 33%. Which was obviously the best. If Bernie can retain most of his previous popularity, he could do the same thing Trump did in 2016.

The issue is that there's a lot of money that could play spoiler to that. Also Biden is a creep.

I really hope this doesn't go to the convention being contested all the way. The last thing we need is a divided party right before the convention.

Dems need to rally behind Bernie if he's the guy after Super Tuesday immediately. If it's Buttigeig or Bloomberg idc they also need to rally behind them. But the longer it goes on the better it is for TRump.

If bernie isn't the nominee, he needs to really move his base to vote for the Dem unlike last time. It's imperative we actually beat Trump this time with everyone actually voting, not assuming he's going to lose.

Bernie attempted to move his base to vote Hillary. It wasn't his fault that Hillary's server got hacked and exposed the 2016 primaries as a Fraud.

    Attempted...

His convention speech had no enthusiasm... and his giving her the pledged delegates thing was cringe because you could tell he really wasn't in it.

I like Bernie and was upset he wasn't nominee but the job wasn't finished.
