You're free to check the tape but I'd bet a huge sum amount of money I posted my opposition to it.

Bc congress must appropriate the funding.

The whole point of a flu shot though is that you are receiving antibodies that are formed from when the body is fighting the virus. Just let people who won't die develope that naturally.
There's no evidence because its brand new. We have no clue one way or the other.

I imagine we can make ANYTHING an emergency with enough fear porn and media support.
If the virus ended up having an IFR of 1% then I think its ARGUABLE this was justified. But with all the data that has come out in the past month this is clear tyranny.

I don't see the parallel here sir.
A medieval wall that does nothing to help the actual problem (but whatever, MAGA... keep America white)... we've already wasted a ton of emergency money on it. There's that conservative fiscal responsibility, lmao.

Just waiting for Trump to do his usual about face and start talking about how serious this is and lock everything down nationally, and all of his sheep followers will follow suit saying they always wanted to take this more seriously than others but the media was blasting Fake News or something.

This virus doesn't seem to have near a seasonal component in the Summer as the Flu (it doesn't go away in the Summer like the flu does)... but colder months are worse for every virus. The second wave was the bad one for the Spanish Flu... we better hope the Fall/Winter isn't like that for this one or we are in some real crap. I'm not scared for me. I'm healthy and relatively young. But I am worried about my parents who are elderly and have pre-existing conditions.

    1. That isn't the point.

    2. Such a large use of imminent domain doesn't really have a precedent that I'm aware of (aside from Native American land seizures which everyone accepts as being pretty terrible).

    3. State of emergencies also are not a new concept and have important uses in our history.

Sure, for real emergencies. Thats not what we are dealing with now based on all the data that has come in the past month+

This emergency is killing more people than the vast majority of other emergencies in modern history. I love it... first it's "this is overblown... like only 12 people are gonna die" then, "the models aren't as dire now, only 60,000 people are gonna die so its not serious"... now "the models were wrong again, and at least 100,000 people will die... maybe more... but still, no big deal"

I don't consider 100k people dying due to a virus a national emergency.

Is it a terrible thing? Of course but emergencies need to be reserved for catastrophic events, especially if the labeling of it as an emergency is evoking police state powers like we are seeing.

You may believe that, but that doesn't make it true. This is a real emergency.

Without some sort of viable treatment option or a vaccine, well more than 100k people will die. 55k died in April alone.

I... er, literally responded to you question saying I'm opposed to it and very likely said so at the time

    That's the opposite of silence

No matter how many people die, you will refuse to consider it an emergency unless Trump gets on board.

Ok - I guess you are choosing to go this route as opposed to discussing the actual facts and data.

    Thats cool.

The number of people dying is a huge reflection of poor policies from state governors. How do you not see that?

55k is horrible but it should have never come close to that number.
