The study done in France had issues but clearly showed better cure rates for the group given the drugs

Hopefully it works. And everyone who would like to can pat himself on the back until he dislocates his shoulder.

Italy apparently skipped national board exams for prospective doctors and nurses waiting to take the tests, and threw them into the fire to help with the crisis. This would be far better job training for them than that test I would imagine.

I wonder if it's paying off yet. I hope so.

chosen one's buffoonery is not a new story, but it is a major part of the coronavirus story...it should be covered in its full glory...to not do so would be journalistic malpractice

No. Because it exposes why you need a competent adult as the face for a crisis like this.

He should stop going in front of the podium. Just let Pence and Fauci talk only.

We haven't even gotten into his tweets during this crisis yet.

Trump will have blood on his hands for misleading and lying for weeks.

The country will get through this, recover, but it absolutely should be highlighted how incompetent and reckless he was for this saga.

Probably right, but I fear, like everything else he’s done since the 2016 primary, that the demand for his spotlight will absorb attention away from more critical stories.

Basically, what I’m saying is we don’t need every single media outlet cutting together a “highlight” clip of him saying something stupid to package and feed to a base that already loathes him.

As someone who is craving unbiased news update on COVID to handle the existential dread, I really wish there was more attention paid to non-Trump stories.

I’m glad that the discussion is happening. We need a concrete plan in place for a soft start once these lockdown directives are relaxed.

Having a plan is one thing, providing public pressure to do so is not. We cannot become so concerned with the Economic impact that we loosen the safety protocols until we know it’s prudent to do so.

I’d argue that plan won’t form until there’s a voice representing the severe economic impact of a prolonged shut down. We need to hold our government to provide forward guidance and set expectations and show they have a plan to manage the trade-off.

Because this isn’t just an economic impact. This has the potential to be a Great Depression level event

We should avoid killing the economy. The social dislocation, hardship and yes loss of life from that would be terrible. The choices are very tough and should be acknowledged as such.

If you talk to old people, and I'm shading that way myself, many will express concern about the costs young people are being saddled with largely for the benefit of the old and infirm. Sorry to put it so starkly.

And there are ways to mitigate the amount of despair by targeting measures at an age group over a certain at risk threshold.
