Specific individuals? So you think it stayed local. This virus spreads rapidly so as seed infections were coming into the country from November to January each of those created a new exponental spread data set.
If you are willing to admit a few individuals (which is absurd considering the amount of travel between China and the US) then your whole position makes no sense.

Not every individual seeds at the same rate. It certainly possible that some people came over with the infection and did not spread it. It could have also spread in a fairly isolated and healthy group, none of whom were "super-spreaders." It is also possible that no one came over with it until January. Who knows? I certainly don't, and neither do you. But it has clearly been moving around at a much greater scale since February, based just on the death totals.
Is your theory that in NY 100 people a day were dying from flu-like symptoms during the COVID-19 outbreak, but no one was testing them for either the flu or COVID-19? Like, legitimately I don't see what else you could be suggesting. But that's a legit tinfoil-hat theory.
None came over prior to January? In what possible way is that possible if the virus was spreading in China in November but most likely way before.
This site has arrival figures from China: https://travel.trade.gov/view/m-2017-I-001/index.asp
321k just in January. 476K in Q4 19.
Thats a total of approx 800K people. We know the virus spreads rapidly and you some how think that we haven't had hundreds, or more likely, thousands of seed infections in this country?
That is what makes zero sense.
Was mass testing available?

acting like the USA couldn't test while south korea has been testing out the ass
and we both had our first case on the same day

On Thursday, Katsunobu Kato, Japan’s health minister, said he had informed Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that there was evidence that Japan was now at a high risk of rampant infection.
On Wednesday night, just a day after Japan and the International Olympic Committee agreed to delay the Tokyo Summer Games for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic, the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, warned citizens that the sprawling city of close to 14 million people was in a “critical phase before a possible infection explosion.”
Cases in Tokyo spiked this week, setting records for four days running — including an announcement of 47 cases on Thursday — as travelers returned from overseas. The limited testing for the virus has raised fears that many more are going undetected.

Older population. Very high population density. I fear for Tokyo (my favorite city in the world) and the rest of Japan.

What would mass testing have to do with the overall number of sick people in hospitals? According to you people were getting sick and dying or being hospitalized, but just not confirmed COVID-19 cases. Yet hospitals weren't nearly as constrained with the same sort of symptoms in the sort of mass quantities we're seeing now. Certainly not dying at the same rates.
My "hunch" is you suck at math. Or you are just burying your head in the sand.

Or this is the natural progression of the curve that was forming since november? Once you reach critical mass of total number infected the spread will slow down dramatically and the curve plummets.
My guess is that you actually have no experience with math.
If you want though I can show you my undergrad in math as well as my cpa exam grades. Let me know.

The coronavirus is ravaging the health of the American people while simultaneously driving the economy into the ground and instead of having steady leadership from the White House to rely on, we are being inundated with pathetic excuses, misdirection, and petty political feuds as our deeply incompetent president struggles just to keep his head above water.
Meanwhile, the country’s governors are working overtime to provide their states with the necessary resources and medical supplies to combat the rapidly spreading outbreak. Trump refuses to step up and take responsibility for using the federal government to give them the necessary assistance and seems far more interested in his scheme to assign blame to everyone but himself. Now, it appears at least some of the governors are getting fed up with his inaction and speaking out.
The Washington Post reports that Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA) challenged the president during a conference call between Trump and governors today. Trump told the group that the federal government is prepared to serve as “backup” for the states should the crisis spiral out of their control, a promise which Inslee rightly called out as insufficient.
Add your name to tell Congress:
“We don’t need a backup. We need a Tom Brady,” said Inslee, referring to the record-breaking quarterback of the New England Patriots football team. The governor also called for the federal government to more aggressively mandate that private businesses and defense contractors start mass-producing much-needed supplies like ventilators.
As expected, Trump—who recently referred to Inslee as a “snake”—got “defensive” and insisted that his administration has done plenty to fight the pandemic. Later, Trump spoke to reporters about the call and while he didn’t call out Inslee by name he did say that one of the governors was a “wise guy,” which is a terrible way to describe an elected official simply trying to advocate for the people of his state.
Once again, we are presented with clear proof that Trump is unfit for office and is only capable of making things worse. It’s clear that if we are to weather this national nightmare together we will have to rely on leaders like Inslee and ignore men like Trump.

Trump says in his meeting with the governors there was a “wise guy”
who “a little bit” raised his voice and used to be a “big” wise guy
but they “saw to it” that he wouldn’t be anymore

TRUMP JUST NOW: “The Defense Production Act is wonderful thing,
but I just haven’t had to use it.”
REALITY: Governors, medical professionals, and national security experts
are begging Trump to use the DPA to produce critical medical supplies.
His inaction is costing lives.

I thought, assumed, Cuomo too but the above article names Inslee
Everything is a pissing contest with this guy.
The country is dying both literally and financially and he is babbling about wise guys. Or super math skills or some such irrelevant nonsense
This is not Inslee's first dealings with Trump promises/ it's as if Inslee was a lender or contractor for a casino or something
