we were talking about Hannity's late to the party conversion and how you and your friends parroted , unwittingly perhaps , every word.
    No, unwittingly - pretty sure

That was a real issue for some back when the GA senate seats were up for grabs.

    Now, not so much.

excess deaths in 2020 by age groups

under 15: 93.1% of normal (meaning 6.9% fewer deaths than normal)

    15-34: 120.2%
    35-64: 125.2%
    over 65: 119.8%
    All ages: 120.0%

The gross numbers are skewed toward older people. But that is because the gross numbers are higher for older people in a normal year.

Basically covid scaled up mortality by about 20% for all age groups over 15. This conforms to a mathematical characteristic sometimes called the Gompertz Law.

I was talking more about positive cases, rate of hospitalizations, mortality, etc. For personal reasons, not political.

I would think the mortality data are most useful. Kids under 12 who get covid probably often don't even get tested because they are asymptomatic. My youngest is 18 and I thought it made sense to get him vaccinated (he was 17 at the time, but he was all for it). I haven't researched extensively but I think the covid health and death risks for children are quite a bit lower than for young adults or older teens. To the extent there is a case for vaccinating children it mainly has to do with the social benefits of herd immunity.

You say we shouldn't get vaccinated because it's unproven gene therapy. So who's scared? Those taking that risk to help keep sick and elderly safe or those putting their own safety as so paramount that they won't take the miniscule risk of the vaccine to help others?

There is absolutely no reason to take a treatment for something that you have a 99.9% survival rate from.

Yes, the ones that do have irrational fears.

The at risk have taken the vaccine correctly and now are protected.
