I mean I care- the numbers from the outset said that people who were fat would struggle with it. It boggles my mind how many people don't take care of themselves and enjoy wallowing in their struggle.

If people want to treat their temple like it’s a landfill then that’s their choice. When it starts impacting my freedom and life is when I get pissed

    It isn’t.

I can’t stand that. Don’t celebrate someone getting diabetes and probably being a drain on your local ems dept because they won’t manage it.

I'm assuming this was a mistake contraction because otherwise this doesn't make sense.

Obesity is a complex subject. Because it does directly tie to wealth. Cheap calorie dense foods are cheaper than veg pound for pound. And many parts of the country live in a food desert. Which complicates things even more.

We also live in a country which for the majority of any of our lives we were told that eating a ton of starches was good for us. And to have more fruit than protein. Basically for most of my life the government recommended to consume sugar.

And of course the tie to obesity will be directly attributed to some sort of inequity in society. Expected.

People are fat mostly because they are lazy. End of discussion.

We shouldn't overgeneralize. There are some hardworking people who are overweight.

Trump physically looks awful but his actual health is at worst average. But you got a chance to talk about your favorite person again.

It is a factor. As is genetics. Look at Prince Fielder. Prince FIelder was a vegan, he was a top level athlete who trained all the time. And was fat. Was he lazy? What his diet bad? Or did he have some combination fo bad genetics and caloric need to do his job?

Fun personal anecdote. Several of the laziest people I know aren't fat. They have good genetics. It's the same with me and lifting. Whenever I lift I can outlift most people simply because I build strength very easy. It's genetic, it's not because I try harder. I avoid the gym for a few months, hit the gym and I quickly build up weights until I plateau at a pretty high level and if I push through that can lift at levels that many people spend years doing it.

    Fun anecdotes and humblebrags.

If you operate in a caloric deficit, you will lose weight if thats your goal.

Most people just are afraid of hard work.

That is partially true, but it's just a piece of a puzzle. Caloric intake is a part of it but being a healthy person also requires a good balance of your source of calories.

If I eat 1000 calories of tortilla chips I'll lose weight but I won't be able to function well. If I'm pretty well off financially I can take that chance. If I'm not I cannot. If I'm working 60 hours a week I need to get through that. If I slip I could lose my job.

There's a documentary on Netflix, at least there was. Of this guy who did a 30 day juice diet. And watching it, there's no way a normal person could do that, but because he was affluent, he could. Things like that matter.

To just say the difference between obesity and not is effort is short sighted. Sure it helps to try. But there's more to it than just one thing. You cite calorie defiict. But how do you know what your calorie deficit is?

But it's not an exact science. It's a guesstimate.

Here's a hint here skippy, there's a way to do it, it involves seeing a specialist, which guess what, costs a healthy chunk of money.

No. You can easily do it yourself as long as you know how to read and do simple addition/multiplication.

Your insisting on attributing everything in life as unanswerable without significant help is unfortunate and you should not have such low expectations for yourself or others.

The ****ing audacity of this po. You've been railing on fat people, then come rallying to ya boi. Where's the shame on Donny? He's 6'3 240 pounds. Which is about as heavy as I was playing football in high school when I could bench 250+, squat 350+, and deadlift 400+. And was routinely sprinting etc. Regardless of that point, 6'3 (and he's probably a scouting report 6'3) 240 (probably a round down) would mean you have a BMI of 30 which is obese. Of course I doubt DOnnie is 6'3 as when he's standing next to Trudeau he never looks taller than him. Of course camera angles makes it hard to compare.

So to compare a 6'3 240 pound man next to a 6'2 180 pound man.

Nope, you cannot accurately calculate your metabolic rate on your own.

You can find your way to it through extensive trial and error. But it's not something you can figure out by filling out a form.
