Ummmm... what are you talking about?

A black person was over 3 times more likely to be shot to death by police in 2019 than a white person.

No the analogy was done for another reason. It had to do with whether a public official loses his audience because all of a sudden a bunch of people start demonstrating because of the George Floyd death. De Blasio God bless him is still urging people to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. But he isn't putting that in every tweet. Does that make him lose credibility.
"I am a victim, I will tell you. I am a victim."
"I am your retribution."
This is what BDB had to say to people attending a funeral.
“My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed,” the mayor wrote. “I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping the disease and saving lives. Period.”
How's his tone today?
His tone? Well his message is the same. But I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing or inconsistency to calibrate a message based on circumstances or people. It is called reading the room. In one room of people you speak one way and another in a different way, and that can be absolutely consistent in terms of what you are trying to accomplish. You speak one way to a group of people wanting to gather for a funeral and another way to demonstrators angry about what happened to George Floyd. I don't see how it can be otherwise.

I haven't heard of any arrests as far as people getting a bootleg haircut or having a large gathering to remember someone who died. People have been having corona parties. It is stupid. It is to be strongly discouraged. But I haven't seen anyone being led off in handcuffs.

No arrests, huh?
