The World Health Organization is pressing pause on its trial of hydroxychloroquine as treatment for COVID-19 out of fear for the drug’s potential danger. The medication best known for its use against malaria and autoimmune disorders has been at the heart of controversy as President Donald Trump, among others, has touted its use to fight the coronavirus. But WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters at a news briefing Monday that the organization would temporarily suspend its trial of the drug over safety concerns.
In explaining the decision, Tedros cited the British journal The Lancet, which published findings last week that showed there was no positive effect of the drug on coronavirus patients. In fact, the study found that those who took hydroxychloroquine or its related drug chloroquine were more likely to die or develop an irregular heart rhythm. “Not only is there no benefit, but we saw a very consistent signal of harm,” said one study leader. Other studies had already raised question about the drug’s effectiveness. “The executive group has implemented a temporary pause of the hydroxychloroquine arm within the Solidarity Trial while the safety data is reviewed by the data safety monitoring board. The other arms of the trial are continuing,” Tedros said. He did emphasize though that the drugs “are accepted as generally safe for use in patients with autoimmune diseases or malaria.”

And the data gets BETTER the longer Georgia/Florida/Texas are opened.
What gives guys?

Florida:
-Lowest 10 day positivity rate since the start of the pandemic
-10 day Hospitalization rates are up and down but current day rolling rate is the same as 4/27
Georgia:
-Lowest 10 day positivity rates since the start of the pandemic.
-10 day hospitalization rate is the same as it was 5/10 (after a massive drop leading up to 5/10)
Texas:
-Positivity rates fluctuate but 10 day rolling is at approximately the same rate as it was on 5/4
What is the explanation guys? Explain how lockdowns past the first 15 days were useful. Its not on the lockdown crowd to justify what was done because almost all the data coming out after opening shows that the lockdowns had almost no impact and in certain situations made the issue worse.
2020 elections will be about who protested against the lockdowns the most. American public, aside from whiny white liberals, feel like they were bamboozled. This was a freak out over something minimal and eventually the real story about awful democratic leadership will be the real takeway from the CCP virus.

No need to wait two weeks. We can look at the current data.
I'd say it is a mixed bag. Good news in Texas where cases in the past seven days are down 18% from the prior seven days and in Florida down 3%.
But some worrisome news elsewhere. In your home state cases are up 15%.
Other states showing increases: Alabama 34%, Arkansas 58%, Georgia 23%, North Carolina 24%, South Carolina 7%.
West Virginia, where cases have been low for a long time, is up 126%.
This is where my data comes from if you want to check up on things for yourself. I wish the news were better. Some of the increase in cases is down to more testing. But probably not all of it.

Lol... the NY Post is a joke. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/new-york-post/
"Overall we rate the New York Post on the far end of Right-Center Biased due to story selection that typically favors the Right and Mixed (borderline questionable) for factual reporting based on several failed fact checks."
Anyways... the data is promising in the early going for states that have reopened even though localized outbreaks will continue to flare up in various places. The simple and most logical answer is the virus is showing a seasonality component like most respiratory viruses and is slowing down now that the warm weather has finally settled in consistently. If it is following the same cycle as most, then the Fall/Winter seasons are not going to be good.
WV positivity rate is 2.16% the last 10 days. Strictly case of increased testing.
GA same story as positiivty rates are falling.
SC rolling rate is 3.14% with small increases recently.
Other states are showing increases in positivity rates but this could be attributable to people realizing lockdowns aren't all that effective.
The data as a whole tells a fantastic story since normal activity is returning.

Hospitalizations, ICU, and vents are staying pretty flat. These are the categories that I pay attention to more than cases. The emphasis from the beginning was to prevent overwhelming the hospitals, not prevent cases, right? Flatten the curve...
