btw i very much approve of these comparisons of states or counties that are neighbors and generally similar...it reduces (but doesn't eliminate) the risk that confounding variables come into play

Its almost like clockwork. Infections rise. People get scared and adjust their behavior. Infections drop. People get complacent and adjust their behavior. It is human nature. Our species aint that smart.
