The agenda is politics. Not public health.
In states that have seen huge spikes in new cases, hospitalization rates have spiked significantly. Hospitalization rates are down overall, because prior hot spots (NY, NJ, CT, MA, basically most of the NE area) which represented well over half the national cases and hospitalizations at one point) have seen their number of new cases decrease dramatically.

I'm talking about how many new covid hospitalizations we are seeing in the states in question. That's really the only number that matters in regards to an expected increase in deaths.
I assume you're talking about how many new cases end up needing to be hospitalized. Considering we're significantly more than we were a month or two ago, of course the number is going to be lower.

No it doesn't because for starters not all hospitalizations are equal and based on the rate of hospitalization you can forecast the cascading impact of spread and project overuse of hospitals.
Its completely different than what we saw in the north east when the average age of infected was mid 50s.

I do not know what you are trying to say here. From a rate basis much less people are requiring hospitalization and the average stay of someone going to the hospital is significantly shorter.
You are trying to use what happened in the north east to project what will happen to the south and leveraging the proxy of confirmed cases to do it.
Its just very bad modeling and it will end up being very wrong.

It is interesting to see this rise in hospitalizations of a younger cohort of people.
Yes, COVID-19 is a serious disease for younger people. The recovery rates are high. But we see that even young people need to go to the hospital for treatment in large numbers. A significant subset need intensive care. A quarter to a half of those hospitalized who recover have lingering long-term health issues of one kind or another.
Mask up peeps.

The rise in hospitalization is due to awareness of the virus. Yiunger people are staying in hospitals that woild traditionally just stay in their own bed and hydrate. Thats why the hospital stays are averaging around 2-3 days. They are pointless for over 99% of the young people that are admitted.

If Biden wins you won't find a peep about any virus in the news. Fortunately it'll be four more years of china viruses.
